Environmental Cleaning Solutions (ECS) is a second-generation family-owned full-service cleaning company. Based in Annville, ECS provides commercial cleaning services and solutions locally and across the country with over 450 employees.
Dave Ober Sr., founded the company in 1989 as a carpet dying and cleaning business, both to residential and commercial customers. In 1990 Dave expanded his cleaning services and support under the name Ober the Rainbow with a focus on janitorial services and floor covering operations. As the business continued to grow and expand, it was later rebranded to Environmental Cleaning Solutions (ECS) in 2003. Ober’s motivation then and today is rooted in the same principles of serving others and building partnerships.
With humble beginnings and a competitive landscape, Ober focused on differentiating services and support in the Annville and central Pennsylvania communities. As the business continued to grow, he and his five children began to work alongside each other and scale the business locally and nationally building long-standing relationships, and broadening the reach of ECS across the country.
ECS continues to grow within the current 12-state service area footprint and plans to expand to other states. As a company, the team has also acquired and built new companies based on ever changing customer needs. This includes the 2022 launch of Eagle Distribution Services, a full-service staffing company, as well as the 2024 purchase of Reed’s Lock & Access Control Systems. Additionally in 2024, Eagle’s Landing, A Gathering Place, was developed and launched as an event space supporting the local community for hosting events.
